Maldives’ Visa Types

  • Tourist Visa – Granted for up to 30 days (can be extended for additional 60 days).
  • Business Visa – Granted for business activities, should be obtained from Maldives Immigration.
  • Work Visa – Granted for 90 days (should be extended after getting sponsorship from the employer).
  • Marriage Visa – Issued for a year if married to Maldivian citizen.

Nepalese citizens are eligible for 30-day Visa on arrival for free.

Documents Required for Visa in Maldives

  • Passport – The passport should at least have 6 months of validity and Machine Readable Zone (MRZ).
  • Return Ticket – Maldives Immigration says a confirmed return ticket is must for free visa.
  • Accommodation – Prepaid confirmed booking at accommodation.
  • Funds – Apart from prepaid itinerary, you must have at least $400 or MVR 6,160.
  • Health Declaration – Traveler must complete Traveler Health Declaration via IMUGA portal 96 hours before departure.
